The official consumer Kimi AI website is https://www.kimi.com/. Open that address directly when you want Kimi Chat, and confirm that the browser still shows kimi.com before entering an email address, password or verification code.
Kimi also has separate pages for developers, coding tools and help. They serve different purposes and may have different authentication or billing contexts. This guide maps the official English access points and provides a cautious troubleshooting process.
Important: Kimi AI Guide is an independent publication, is not affiliated with Moonshot AI and does not operate Kimi’s login. We cannot access your account and will never ask you to send us a password, one-time code or API key.
Official Kimi access links
| What you need | Official destination | Use it for |
|---|---|---|
| Kimi Chat and Agent | https://www.kimi.com/ | Consumer chat, files, research and agent tools |
| Kimi Help Center | https://www.kimi.com/help | Current setup, account, billing and troubleshooting articles |
| Kimi Code | https://www.kimi.com/code | Coding product information and access |
| Kimi Open Platform | https://platform.kimi.ai/ | Developer console, API account and usage |
Type or bookmark the destination you need. A search-result advertisement, social post or lookalike domain is not a substitute for checking the address bar.
Kimi Chat login: step by step
- Open a fresh browser tab.
- Go directly to https://www.kimi.com/.
- Check that the connection uses HTTPS and that the host ends exactly in
kimi.com—not a longer lookalike such askimi.com.example.com. - Choose the sign-in option displayed by Kimi.
- Complete any email, Google or other verification flow on the provider’s own trusted page.
- Return to Kimi and confirm that your profile or account controls are visible before starting sensitive work.
Kimi’s official Docs guidance currently mentions Google or email sign-in. Other official help content mentions email or mobile-number registration in certain workflows. The options shown to you can depend on region, platform and product version; do not force an undocumented route if it is absent from your screen.
The 10-second domain check
Before entering credentials, read the hostname from right to left:
https://www.kimi.com/...
└─ official registered domain: kimi.com
A subdomain must appear before the registered domain:
https://platform.kimi.ai/...
└──── official developer host documented by Kimi
These examples are not official merely because they contain the word “kimi”:
https://kimi.example.com/
https://kimi.com.example.net/
https://example-kimi-login.com/
Do not rely on a padlock alone. HTTPS encrypts the connection to the current site; it does not prove that the site belongs to Kimi.
Chat account versus API account
The consumer app and developer platform should not be treated as one interchangeable screen.
| Question | Kimi Chat | Kimi Open Platform |
|---|---|---|
| Main purpose | Conversational and Agent product | API integration and developer account management |
| Starting domain | www.kimi.com | platform.kimi.ai |
| Typical credential risk | Passwords and one-time codes | Passwords, one-time codes and API keys |
| Usage information | Membership/credits in the consumer account | API balance, request usage and developer settings |
| Help path | Consumer Help Center sections | Kimi API Help Center sections |
Seeing an active consumer membership does not by itself establish API credit, and an API key does not prove access to every consumer feature. Use Kimi pricing to keep the two billing contexts separate.
Safe sign-in checklist
- [ ] I opened an official URL directly.
- [ ] The hostname is exactly the one expected.
- [ ] I did not arrive through an unsolicited message or attachment.
- [ ] I am not sharing a password, one-time code, recovery code or API key.
- [ ] A password manager recognizes the domain, if I use one.
- [ ] The sign-in provider page also has the expected official hostname.
- [ ] The account shown after login is the one I intended to use.
- [ ] I will sign out on a shared device and avoid saving credentials there.
Not receiving a verification code
Kimi’s official account-settings article recommends this sequence:
- confirm that the email address or phone number is correct;
- allow a few minutes for delivery;
- after five minutes, use the official Resend control; and
- remember that supported regions apply, and VoIP or landline numbers are not accepted according to that article.
Also check spam or junk folders for an email code, but do not weaken account security or send the code to anyone offering to “activate” the account.
If repeated requests fail, stop generating more codes and use the current support route listed in the official Kimi Help Center. Include the problem and a redacted screenshot; never include the code itself or a password.
Lost access to the original sign-in method
Do not create several replacement accounts before understanding what happened. Multiple accounts can split conversations, memberships and developer usage.
The official Kimi account-settings page directs users who lost the original sign-in method to official support for an ownership-verification and transfer process. Begin from the Help Center so that you use the current address and instructions.
Prepare non-secret evidence that helps identify the account, such as:
- the sign-in method previously used;
- the approximate date access was lost;
- the device and app/web surface involved; and
- a redacted proof of a legitimate charge if the issue concerns membership.
Never email a password, full payment-card number, one-time code or API secret.
Signed in, but benefits are missing
The most common safe check is account identity. Kimi’s official membership guidance tells users to confirm that they signed in to the same account used at checkout, then refresh or sign out and back in if benefits do not appear.
Use this order:
- inspect the account identity without publishing it in a screenshot;
- verify the charge independently with the payment provider;
- check the subscription or membership page inside the official Kimi app;
- refresh once or sign out and back in through the official domain; and
- use Kimi’s official billing-support route if the charge succeeded but benefits remain absent.
Do not pay a second time merely to test whether the first purchase worked.
Access varies by region or account
Kimi’s documentation notes regional variation for some sign-in methods, plugins and product surfaces. A feature that appears in an official help article may not be visible to every account at the same time.
When reporting an access problem, record:
| Field | Example format |
|---|---|
| Date and time | 2026-08-04 14:30 UTC |
| Country/region | Country only; do not publish a precise location |
| Surface | Web, iOS or Android |
| Browser/app version | Version number, if known |
| Destination URL | Remove private query parameters |
| Account plan | Free or named paid tier |
| Exact error | Copy the message without credentials |
| Attempted fixes | Refresh, different network, resend after five minutes |
That record distinguishes a reproducible availability issue from an assumption.
API console login safety
The developer console can expose account usage and the controls for API keys. Treat it as a higher-risk surface.
- Navigate directly to platform.kimi.ai.
- Never paste an API key into ordinary chat, email, screenshots or client-side website code.
- Do not record full keys in tutorials; show a placeholder such as
KIMI_API_KEY. - Keep Kimi API keys separate from credentials issued by other regional Kimi/Moonshot platforms. Official Kimi Code documentation says the platforms are independent and their keys are not interchangeable.
- Revoke and replace a key immediately if it is exposed.
For key creation and a minimal authenticated request, use the dedicated Kimi developer guide when it is available.
Common login problems
The page keeps returning to sign-in
Confirm the URL, allow the required first-party session storage for the official site, refresh once and retry in a current mainstream browser. If the issue persists, note the browser version and exact redirect path for official support. Avoid clearing all browser data as a first step because it can sign you out of unrelated services.
The sign-in provider opens a different domain
Google and other identity providers use their own official domains during authentication. Verify the provider domain before entering credentials and ensure the flow returns to kimi.com or the expected Kimi product when complete.
The account is suspended
Do not attempt to bypass a suspension with new accounts. Kimi has an official appeal process in its Help Center. Use that current channel, give a concise factual explanation and keep proof of submission.
A verification message looks suspicious
Do not click the message link. Open Kimi directly, check whether you initiated the request and use official support if needed. Never approve an unexpected device authorization.
A deleted account or conversation needs recovery
Kimi’s account-deletion guidance says deletion is irreversible, and its chat guidance says deleted conversation history cannot be recovered. Back up permitted material before deleting it; do not trust third parties promising recovery.
What we verified—and what we did not

Not claimed:
- that every sign-in method is available in every country;
- that a specific interface button was tested on every device;
- that consumer and developer accounts share all entitlements; or
- that a third-party app using the Kimi name is official.
